Import of Journal Entry to QB Enterprise 2019

Hi,

We do our accounting in QB.  But another ERP system is feeding me journal entries and what is the best way to import them?

Hello there, Karu.

The journal entries should be in an IIF file format so you can import them to QuickBooks.

If you have the file, here's how to import it:

  1. Click File.
  2. Go to Utilities.
  3. Click Import, then choose IIF files.
  4. Look for the file, then click Open.
  5. Click OK on the pop up message telling it has been imported already.

I've got you a helpful article that you can read: Export or import Intuit Interchange Format (.IIF) files.

However, if you're not able to get an IIF file, you'll want to enter the entries one by one. Here's how:

  1. Click Company.
  2. Choose Make General Journal Entries.
  3. Fill in the necessary fields, then click Save & Close or Save & New.

You can also check for third-party apps that will help you import journal entries. Visit our market place for the list.

We're just around if you have further questions. Have a great one!

It is likely that your ERP system is not feeding you journal entries in the *.IIF format, which is what is necessary to import transactions into Quickbooks.  If that is the case, check out this page of all third party apps that work with Quickbooks desktop versions.  The one called Transaction Pro Importer works a charm.  It has saved me hundreds of hours of manual entry.
