Hi there ottawa1,

It's important all your transactions are correctly entered so your books can be well balanced. QuickBooks Desktop is a great tool able to help you keep track of your income and expenses so you can see the profit of your business. I can provide some information about the profit and loss report.

By design, the profit and loss report does not include tax as the profit in loss is meant to be calculated with the income of your company. The tax would affect a liability account, as it's owed to the government, and therefore won't appear on the profit and loss. if you're wanting to see some reports showing sales, that also show the tax, I recommend checking out the reports located in the Sales subsection of the Reports tab. such as the Transaction list by customer, which can be customized to show only specific transaction types desired.

if you have any other questions, feel free to reach out here.

Hi,

But a company doesn't need your software to do the taxes. Every small growing company with multiple locations has an accountant to do the taxes.

But there's no situation, we can see the monthly sales before your software ruining and removing the taxes. There's no single option to see the total sales of the month. Not even with your sales report that you mentioned.

Something to work on for you guys.

Regards.
