how to create equity statement

Hi dquick,

An Equity Statement is a also known as a statement of Owner's Equity. I'll be happy to share more information so you can get ahead with your work.

QuickBooks Desktop is a powerful program which offers a variety of reports that provide helpful information. Based on what you've described, I recommend using the Balance Sheet as Equity accounts show on your Balance Sheet. The Balance Sheet can be found on your Reports Center. The second method I recommend is going through your Chart of Accounts > Owner's Equity > Quick report.

Give this a try and if you have questions, feel free to reach out by leaving a comment below, I'll be happy to assist.

Hey thanks for the reply.

Well I looked for "owner's equity" but I don't see that account in the account list. I assumed it was something I have to create on my own.

btw I have quickbooks pro 2020.

Glad to hear back from you. I want to make sure we're on the same page, was this your accountant that recommended you get an Equity Statement? Were you given any other details on what the statement needs include?

actually we don't have an accountant. we are a small group - nonprofit. So there is no owner per se.

because this is public domain I am not comfortable with explaining the reason for the request. This is what we have been asked to provide.

Equity Statement (Statement of Changes in Net Assets)

We wonder if the balance sheet comparison report is the same sort of thing.

Hello,
I do not think balance sheet can describe the equity statement with correct format.
