In the budget versus actual report in the Budgeting menu, how can I hide the accounts that are not active anymore ?

Hi christine-invest,

It's a pleasure to see you here.  QuickBooks Online Reports provide specific customizations, so you can review what matters most, at a glance.  I'd be glad to help!

To remove accounts from your reports, that are no longer used in your books, you can make them inactive.  Here's how;

1. Open your Settings ⚙ and select Chart of accounts

2. Locate the account in your list

3. Click on the ▼ dropdown in the Action column and select Make inactive

To hide several accounts, you can do it in one step, by selecting all of the accounts, then click on the Batch actions ▼ and Make inactive.

You're all set and ready to run your reports!

Please don't hesitate to reach out again with other questions.  We'd be happy to assist!

Hello

My accounts are inactive in the chart of accounts but they do appear in my budget versus actual report
Is it because I have amounts in those inactive accounts?
We made some changes into our chart of accounts and I made some journal entries to reduce the balances of those inactives accounts at zero.
As of today, the balance of all my inactive accounts are at zero balance when we cumulative Jan+Feb+March results  but not month by month.
