Hello,

I'm looking to create a sales report but I need the Manufacture Part Number on the report. I've tried several different reports but can't seem to manage it. Is it possible? I would be grateful for any advice on this. Thank you. Janine

Hi again,

 

If you aren't able to include the information you need for your sales report using the customize option then the best option would be to export the sales report to excel and enter the part number manually. If modifying your sales report to include part numbers is a feature you want included I suggest sending feedback to our technicians so they can include it in future updates. You can send feedback by going to Help>Send Feedback Online>Product Suggestions.

Using the reports feature is a great way to get information quickly but the best part is being able to customize it to get all the information you need. I can help walk you through how to customize your reports to include part numbers.

 

A great feature of QuickBooks Desktop is the customize reports option to fine tune the information that you see. In order to customize a report to include part numbers you'll need to add the column to the report. To set the columns and modify the report you can follow the steps in this article. Another option is to export the sales report to excel so you can include part number and make any modifications. This can be done by following these steps:

 

  1. Open the report you want to export.
  2. Select the Excel drop-down at the top of the report, then select Create New Worksheet or Update Existing Worksheet.
  3. In the Send Report to Excel window, choose what you'd like to do with the report.
  4. Select the Advanced button to see other available options for the exported report then select OK. To ensure the exported report will show Header information

    If you are using a newer version of MS Excel and the exported report does not show header information, go to the Printing options section and make sure the On Printed report and screen option is selected.

  5. Select the Export button. QuickBooks opens MS Excel. You can edit your data as needed.

Another option is to look for a third party app to help you include all the information you are looking for in the reports. You can go to our QuickBooks Desktop Apps page to find one to best suit your needs. Be sure to verify it works with the Canadian version as the site includes apps for both American and Canadian.

Thank you for your reply. I guess my issue is the Manufacture Part Number can not be included in a SALES report.  I've tried the suggestions made but I still can't get the Manufacture Part Number into a SALES report.
