Sales Tax Liability Report

I am doing the preparations before migrating from desktop to online, it is required to save a sales tax liability report, but I didn't find it in Supplier and Payable. I tried following steps but still couldn't find the report.(Edit -> Preference -> Sales Tax ->Company Preference -> Do you charge sales tax = Yes -> Ok)And there is no sales tax liability account in our Charts of Accounts, could you please let me know if there are any other methods to get the reports? Our desktop is QUICKBOOK 2013 PRO,thanks

Sales Tax Liability Report

Hi Angela367,

Congrats on the move! I'm sure you're going to love our QuickBooks Online just as much as your Desktop program. Maybe even more. There are a few things you need to know before migrating to QuickBooks Online and I'd be happy to help go over this with you. First is that you would need to be using the newest version of QuickBooks Desktop to start the transfer. But no worries since we've got you covered there. You can download the trial version of QuickBooks 2021 so you can update for the transfer. Make sure you keep a back up before you do the transfer however so you can use the 2013 if you need it again. Once that's done you can check for your Sales Tax Liability report by going to: Reports>Vendors and Payables>Sales Tax Liability report. Depending on how your sales tax accounts were created the liability account could be named whatever you decided on when it was made.

If you're not able to update to QuickBooks 2021 it's recommended to reach out to our support team so they can send it out to be transferred into your new QuickBooks Online account. You can reach out to our support team one of the following ways.

Schedule a Callback or start a Chat: click (?)Help in the upper right in QuickBooks Online > type and enter "Contact support" into the QB Assistant > click Contact Us > explain your situation > click Let's Talk > choose Get a callback or Start a Chat.

Social MediaFacebookTwitter, and Instagram.
Support hours are from Monday to Friday between 9 a.m. and 8 p.m. ET.

Have a great day!

Sales Tax Liability Report

Hello @Angela367 ,

You will find everything you need for your Sales Tax under Sales Tax in the top menu.  If you have been collecting and paying GST, PST or HST, then there has to be G/L liability account for those taxes to track to and for you to have filed any tax remittances.  Perhaps they're called something else in your COA or may have been set-up incorrectly.  It is difficult to tell without seeing your COA.
