Hi susanmquesnel-gm,
I appreciate you reaching out here, so you can properly record your sales receipt with two payment methods applied. QuickBooks Online enables you to split the transaction between multiple accounts. I'd be happy to help!
Here's how to record multiple accounts to a transaction;
1. Open your Settings ⚙ and select Chart of accounts
2. Find the account for the transaction
3. In the Action column, select Account history
4. Select the transaction, then hit Edit to expand the view
5. Enter the other accounts to add with the amount
Note; The amounts for each account should equal the total amount of the transaction.
6. Hit Save
The transaction now displays Split in the account column.

Thank you for your reply. I am not following you, sorry.
I need to have two payment types on one transaction. Where on this screen do I do that adjustment?
Right now it says payment account and shows my credit card. I need to have a payment account of credit card for part of the payment for the receipt. And a payment account of bank account for the other. Could you explain further how I do that?
Thanks again.
Susan
Hi susanmquesnel-gm,
Thanks for getting back to me here. QuickBooks Online provides options for accomplishing your goals. My apologies for not providing both options in my previous reply. You can also split transactions from the For review tab in the Banking section. Here's how;
1. Open Banking from the left menu and open the For review tab
2. Select the downloaded transaction to expand the view
3. If the option in the Action column is Match, change the Find match to Categorize
4. Select Split next to the Add button. This opens the Split transaction window.
5. From the Category dropdown, select the accounts you want to split the transaction into
6. Enter an Amount for each split
7. Select a Supplier for each amount
8. When you're done, hit Apply and accept.
