You need a third party connector to automate the process and it will pass the estimate/invoice data to Gmail. You can open it in your Gmail account and/or set it to automatically forward it to another email address.

It's important that all your transactions are entered correctly for your records to be accurate. QuickBooks Online is a great tool able to help you keep track of your sales and expenses so you can see your company's profit. I can provide some information about emailing invoices.

 

If you're looking at having your email as a Cc or a Bcc, but are just not wanting to type out your email each time you create an invoice, you can add a default Cc or Bcc by going to the Gear Icon, then account and settings. Go to the Sales section, then click on the Messages subsection to open up an expanded menu. Within the newly shown options, you should see a field to add a default Cc or Bcc.

 

If you're looking at another way than Cc or Bcc to get the invoices to your email, as Fiat Lux - ASIA mentioned, another third-party app may be needed to do so. You can view the list of third-party apps by going to the My apps section of your QuickBooks account.

I have done all of the troubleshooting steps to ensure that a cc of my email address is entered and saved in the gear icon under sales and messages but the online application will ONLY send a copy of the email every once in a while and not always.  Why would this be happening and how can it be fixed permanently so that a cc gets to my email ALWAYS

Receiving a copy of your business forms to your email on a random basis, is not the outcome we would expect.  For this reason, I encourage you to contact our Customer Care team at 1-855-253-1536 from Monday to Friday between the hours of 9 AM and 8 PM EST. They'll be able to look into this in more depth, and escalate it for further investigation, if needed.
