Welcome back to the Community! I know how important it is to be able to make changes when setting up things such as the email address for receipt forwarding. The great thing about QuickBooks Online is how user-friendly it is, and how simple these things can be to change. I'd be happy to explain the steps for how to change the email receipts are sent to.

 

You can create a custom email address so you can forward images of your receipts and bills when on-the-go.

 

To create the custom email address:

  1. Go to the Banking menu or Transactions menu.
  2. Select the Receipts tab.
  3. Select Customize email.
  4. Create a customized email address. It will have @qbodocs.com at the end.
  5. When you're ready, select Customize email and then Confirm. Note: Once you claim an email address, you can't change it.
  6. On the last screen, select the users who are allowed to forward emails to your new email address.

In summary, once I've added an email, I cannot delete it.

So, because I was logged into a client's QBO file, and thought for a brain fart second it was mine, I added my businesses name as their receipt email, and now it is permanently stuck there, and cannot be deleted or changed?

Hmm... Intuit usually designs their applications understanding that people are human and make mistakes.  Talk about a major design flaw.  I hate things that only work if the user is a robot who never makes mistakes.  Bookkeeping is all about catching mistakes and fixing them.  That is the definition of reconciling.  To create a feature that does not allow for correction is very bad design.  I would even say a newbie mistake.  If they were students who submitted this to a professor, it would be a fail.  I would say it was rolled out before it was properly de-bugged.  I also predict there will be a lot of complaints about this.

If you've tried the steps provided above and are still unable to change the email, I'd suggest reaching out to our tech support team to ensure we're looking at the same areas of the account and to get additional support. There may be an alternative workaround that can be used in this instance depending on the specific account setup, and I want to make sure you're given every possible option.
