Hi there,
Printing a receipt allows you to have a physical copy for your records. I'd be glad to give you a hand with showing you to do this on your end.
QuickBooks is an easy-to-use program which offers the flexibility to manage your business with ease. Here's how to print a receipt:
From here you'l be able to print the detail showing on the receipt that's entered in QBO. At this it's important to note you can only print out information that's been entered in QBO.
Give this a try and if you have further questions, I recommend contacting our support team using this link.
The answer that was sent to me really had nothing to do with snap receipt I asked about, I know how to print sales and invoices, I want to reprint a picture of the receipt I took a picture of. I also tried to right click the image and save it but this does not save an image.
Hello abtechnicall,
It's awesome you're using the Receipts feature in QuickBooks Online to enter, attach, and track your expenses. I'll be happy to guide you on how you can access your captured receipt to eventually print it.
Once you use the Snap receipt option in the mobile app to add it to the Receipts tab, you can create a new expense in QuickBooks with the image as an attachment. For more details on that check out the article: Capture and categorize receipts and bills
To reprint a captured receipt, follow these steps.
This will pull up your picture in a separate tab and, with a right-click on the image, you can then save it on your device and print it from there. You can also go to Gear > Attachments and select Download to open up the picture to print.
If you're having trouble during any of these steps, it could be a browser issue. Over time, your browser builds up stored internet files which can cause issues with your QuickBooks Online and other websites. Clearing the cache and cookies in your web browser easily resolves this. Here's how to that: How do I clear my browser cache and temporary Internet files?
I hope this helps! Let me know how it goes.
This is not helpful. The receipt saves as a "thumbnail" and is too tiny to print. Snap receipts is a great tool, but it needs some backend functionality - the ability to select a bunch of receipts and print them full size (or better, convert them to a PDF), and a column in reports that indicates which line items have attachments.
Hello ejmooreej,
Thanks for sharing these concerns about accessing and printing the receipt images that are attached to your transactions when you use the Receipts feature in QuickBooks Online. It's important to me that you're able to print out full versions of the receipts, not just the thumbnail, so that you can add these to your records outside of QuickBooks. I'll walk you through it.
Since you're only seeing the thumbnail version of the image, it sounds to me like you may be looking at the Reviewed tab in the Receipts feature. You're right, that list does show a thumbnail, but it's still possible to access the full image so that you can print it. Here's how.
In the Receipts section's Reviewed tab, click where it says Expense or Bill in the Linked record column. This will open up the transaction the image is attached to, at which point you can scroll to the Attachments section and click the image link to open up the full-sized image. Depending on whether you're using a browser or the QuickBooks Online app for Windows/Mac, this may open in a new tab or a new window. From there, you can print or download the image as needed.
You can also access these attached images via the Attachments section through the Gear icon. This section shows you a list of all images and files that have been attached to transactions in QuickBooks Online through the Receipts tab or otherwise. It gives you a handy Download option to save the file to your computer or, again, you can open the transaction and use the steps I highlighted above. Give that a shot and let me know how it goes. If you're still having trouble, feel free to include the steps you're taking and any screenshots you think might be helpful to solving this. Keep in mind that the QuickBooks Community is a public forum, so you'll want to black out any sensitive data in your images.
