Good morning Brandon,
Using the QuickBooks Online mobile app makes it easy to keep track of your books on the go. I love that you've been using the receipt capture feature which streamlines the process of entering your bills and expenses. I'd like to explore what might be causing the beeping when you take photos of your receipts.
Your mobile device will have sounds associated with specific actions, and most cameras have a dedicated shutter sound. These sounds will vary by device and can typically be turned on or off by accessing your device settings. The QuickBooks Online mobile app doesn't have specific settings that allow you to adjust or toggle sounds, so sounds that you hear while using the app can likely be adjusted by turning your device sound on or off.
If you're unsure of how to adjust these settings on your device, I recommend reaching out to the support that is specific to your device, whether it's Apple, Samsung, Google or something else. If after adjusting the sound for your device you find that you're still experiencing a beeping sound when capturing receipts, I encourage you to submit feedback to our product development team. Do this by selecting the ? icon from the mobile app, then choose App Feedback. This is how your voice will be heard by the team that makes changes and improvements to our product offerings.
Enjoy your week and let me know if there's anything else I can do to support you.
I am also experiencing this noise. It is not the noise when you snap a photo, it is a triple beeping sound. I have tried turning off a setting for my camera, I have tried turning down the volume on my phone, I have tried resetting and every time I got to snap a photo of the receipt, it making this noise multiple times. Looking at other forums in other countries, it is happening there and it does not appear to be a device problem. I did my year at the end of November and took lots of pictures of receipts and did not experience this sound. I went to take photos today, and it is making the sound constantly. Please help and don't just give a scripted answer plesae.
Hi there @muytterhgen and thanks for joining in on this thread. I love that you've also been taking advantage of the awesome receipt capture feature in the QuickBooks Online mobile app - it makes the process of entering your bills and expenses so much smoother. It's likely that the beeping sound you're hearing is the auto focus sound that's built into the camera on your device. Here's how you can turn it off:
You can read more about this in the article linked below:
If this doesn't resolve the issue for you, shutting off your device's sound or putting it on vibrate mode will prevent any sounds associated with capturing receipts.
If there's anything else you need, don't hesitate to drop another line here in the Community. Have a great evening!
Hi Rebecca,
I don't think you read my entire post as I said that I did all of those instructions and the sound is still there. My husband, who also has the app, tried it and he also has the sound on his phone. This is a new sound because we both have taken pictures of receipts and have never had this sound before. It is not our devices or the settings on our devices. If you research other community forums, there are a lot of people having this issue and it seems to be Quickbooks issue with your app. Instead of trying to blame it on the user and our devices, please look into on your end as this is clearly not an isolated issue.
I hear what you're saying @muytterhgen and I assure you that I read through your entire post. There's no way to adjust sounds like these in the QuickBooks Online mobile app settings, so I suggest you let our product development team know that this is something you'd like to see changed. Navigate to the Gear icon, then selecting Feedback while logged into QBO from your internet browser. We rely on feedback like this from users like you to ensure that our product is delivering on the features that our customers rely on. I'll be sure to pass your feedback along on my end as well.
