Keep commenting here in this form, i pay 55.00 per month for this sub, i could have stayed with a store bought version and kept it for 5 years, 250 bought in store for 5 years. 55.00 dollars per month time 60 months = 3300.00 dollars!!! 250.00 dollars time 5 years = 1250.00 dollars if you decide to buy a new version each year.
I suggest that members waiting for this simple feature keep posting, keep this alive, lets see if the INTUIT, is truly INTUIT, what an oxy-moron the name of this company is, ya'll get INTO-IT???????
Please keep the posts going
Waiting on this feature for 3 years now and QBO seems to have absolutely no intention of making it happen. How hard it could be to create a new form you can link to invoices the same way estimates do? If an entire team of developers can't come up with a way to make it happen, how can we trust their skills to fix everything else that is wrong with QBO?
Loosing faith in this product... they don't seem to care too much about covering the needs of their customers... too bad.
Well now I get to pay $100 a month for Jobber to do all the SUPER EASY things you guys could easily implement!
I'm so very disappointed in this platform. I will have to ask my Accountant how easy it will be to switch next year, since I suspect some of the other accounting software Jobber links with will be cheaper.

Afaik, Jobber only integrates with QBO

You will need another similar app to integrate with another accounting app. Contact us in private should you need to purchase a 3rd party conversion service.
Delayed charge is not a "workaround". Please implement a work order function. It's simple...
I create an estimate for prospective client --> Client Accepts ---> Generate a Work Order --> Fulfill service --> Create invoice ---> Get paid --> Generate receipt
Hi Staudinger. Thank for chiming in on this thread. I'd like to make sure your voice is heard and I recommend sending feedback about this to our engineers by clicking the Gear icon and looking for Feedback. You're more than welcome to ask questions in the comments below. I'm here to assist.
I, too, have been wanting to convert to Quickbooks Online however it does not offer work orders. Very frustrating. It is essential to our business and seems would be a very quick addition to the online program. Why is it taking so long to address this issue???
You will difficult to find the work order feature on any accounting app similar to QBO. You still need to have an additional app. If you are running a field service business, consider the work order app as I mentioned earlier to integrate with QBO Easy Start and save your budget.

I, too, was going to turn an estimate into a work order however, I wasn't able to amend the "work order" so that no pricing shows.
Cannot be done on QB.. tried and tested and lots and lots of wasted time and money on this useless accounting system
Zoho books has all the QB features.. is more cost effective and has the Job Card / Work Ticket option that doesn't show values .. its simply a matter of changing one or two settings on the standard template..

I don't see any PM.
I'm wondering if anyone has tried using 3rd party app called BlueFolder to create work orders with Quickbooks Online?
I resent the PM.
Anyway, BF is similar to the app as I mentioned in the earlier post and it also supports QBD. Unfortunately the website of BF is outdated. You may compare it with this app

OK...its been a little over a year since I participated in this discussion. Has anything at all progressed in listening to your customers about work orders? I'm sick and tired of piece-milling my work orders together. I am literally begging you right now to PLEASE CREATE A WORK ORDER SYSTEM INSIDE OF QUICKBOOKS ONLINE!!!!
My solution to the problem was to generate a packing slip and use that as a work order... I don't think there will be a solution to this any time soon... apparently creating new forms / expanding customization of existing ones is beyond the capabilities of this software. Too bad.
Hi Garcia.
Thanks for taking the time to share your work around with us and the members of the QuickBooks Community. After all that's what the community is all about.
While waiting for features like Work orders to come out I recommend continuing to send feedback to our developers to let them know this is a feature you wish to have included by following these steps.
You can also look into third party apps to allow you to send out work orders in the meantime by going to the Apps link in your QuickBooks Online account or continue using work arounds like you already mentioned.
If you have any questions let us know and we'd be happy to help.
Consider having a 3rd party app as a workaround. Otherwise, switching to another accounting app is inevitable.
I am already paying graciously for QBO. Why in the heck would I want to pay for an app for a feature that should be native to QBO. Work orders are standard operating functions. We aren't asking for some extraordinary feature to be built.
I have given feedback more times than I can count over the past 2 years. Seems any feedback is simply ignored.
I hear you on this, PNutButterBananas, and know that for many business owners and bookkeepers, work orders are a staple part of managing a set of books. I'm glad to hear that you've left feedback about this already with our team and want to assure you that the product developers do read through the comments and consider them in future updates for the product. You can see when new features are implemented by keeping an eye on this page, which is updated quarterly at this time: QuickBooks Online Feature and Product Updates
I know that taking on the fees of a third-party solution may not be the best course of action for your business. I encourage you to make whatever decision leads you to a solution that works for you. I'll be here if you had any other concerns you'd like to share.
The funny thing is that Intuit wants people to move from Desktop to Online, but doesn't offer the same features. You would think if they were able to create a work order for Desktop, the Online version would be similar and therefore faster. I am not a programmer so maybe I have it all wrong. Intuit certainly has never really been Contractor-friendly.
I have been checking out MethodCRM. They has a two way sync with QBO and have a work order that can be dispatched to technicians. The work order remains in MethodCRM while the Estimate and Invoice are moved to QBO. This CRM also takes care of another missing feature of providing a report for Sales Leads won/loss A lead is not synced with QB until there is a financial reason to do so...once an estimate is approved. Check it out.

It costs $44 per month per user. We may recommend other options with a lower price with the same or more features to integrate with QB Online.
I feel like this is not a resolution for me. I am trying to make a work order for my employees to do the job. It is not necessary for the cost to be on the spread sheet. I also do not want to go back and rewrite over an hours worth of items. They need to fix this. Joist app has a feature that just moves all the line items to a new page without moving the "cost per" . Quick books needs to step up!!!!!
Hi Eddier001.
Being able to make a work order for the jobs your employees so is a key part of running a business. I'd be happy to help you get back to saving time in QuickBooks Online.
If the provided work arounds or third party apps will not work with what you need to do I recommend sending feedback to our development team to request this be added to QuickBooks Online. You can send feedback by going to the Gear icon and selecting Feedback. Once they receive the request they'll look into ways to possibly add this in future updates.
If you have any questions let us know and we'd be happy to help!
