I created an invoice from an estimate and only invoice 60% of it. How do I invoice the balance

Hi,  useroffice-ionicelec

First, you enable Progress invoicing

Move to the Estimate >click Create invoice button > enter the balance 40% and click create Invoice > hit Save.

Feel free to contact me for any clarifications.

I created an invoice from an estimate and only invoice 60% of it. How do I invoice the balance

Hello again useroffice-ionicelec,

It sounds like you may already be creating your invoices from estimates, meaning you already have the progress invoicing feature turned on in your QuickBooks Online account. Rajanikanth has you off to a good start with moving forward with this, and I'd be happy to clarify how you can invoice for the balance of the estimate when working with progress invoicing.

In the event you aren't already using progress invoicing, what you're hoping to do here is the perfect opportunity to use that feature. Our Set up and send progress invoices in QuickBooks Online can get you started with using it and explain how it works, so feel free to check that out. Essentially, when you use this feature and create an invoice for a percentage of the estimate, the way to invoice the rest is to return to the estimate and click to create the invoice.

This feature is intuitive and recognizes that you've already created an invoice for a percentage of the estimate total. For instance, if I create an estimate for $100, invoice 60% of that, and then return to my estimate when I need to invoice the rest, I'll see the following in the lines of the estimate.

When I select to create a new invoice, the screen looks like this, giving me the option to invoice the remainder, invoice a percentage again, or invoice a custom amount for each line.

Choose which you'd like, select Create invoice, and that should get you on your way! Once created, you'll be able to see all of the transactions in QuickBooks Online's Sales section if you need to review them for any reason.

I hope this has helped! Have a great rest of your day.
