Hey there suzannecfournier,
Making sure QuickBooks Online is displaying the information you need on your forms is an important part of setting up your program. Likewise, it's also good to be able to make edits to or even remove items when they no longer apply to your business. I can guide you to removing your HST number from your invoices.
Your sales tax numbers are tied to the sales tax setup in the program, so when you want to make changes, going to the sales tax centre will allow you to do so. Here are the steps to take.
Keep in mind this will remove the number from all of your sales forms, not only the invoices.
Let me know if you have further questions about that. Have a great day.
I don't want sales taxes to show on a custom sales receipt for donations. How do i remove it from that template only
Hi jmckerroll. Are you trying to remove the tax itself from view, or the HST registration number as the original poster mentioned?
I think this is the old way to do it, I need to know how to add the taxe numbers on my invoice. Thanks
Hi there. Thanks for chiming in on this thread. I can see the importance of being able to display your tax numbers on your invoice. I'd be happy to show you how to display these numbers on your invoices. Here's how:
1. Click the Taxes tab on the left navigation menu.
2. Select Sales Tax at the top of the page.
3. Click Manage Sales Tax.
4. Select Edit agency settings.
5. Enter your GST/HST number in the field provided.
6. Click Save.
Keep in mind that the method above allows for your tax number to be displayed on paid invoices. If you'd like to display the tax number on unpaid invoices, follow the steps below:
1. Click on the Gear icon and select Custom form styles.
2. Select the invoice template in question.
3. Click on the Content tab.
4. Select the bottom part of the invoice.
5. In the Footer field, write "HST Registration Number xxxxx".
6. Click Done.
Let me know if this info helps. I'll be here in case you've got additional questions.
