Hi RV Geeks, We're in a similar boat as you. It's not possible to auto-bill in USD in the Canadian version of Quickbooks. Only CAD. You can get very close to what you want to do using the Freedom Merchants add-on, but it doesn't handle variable rate invoices or price changes without a bit of manual fiddling within the payment gateway and manual reconciliation thereafter. Unlike some other accounting apps, a large part of Quickbooks business model is in the fees made on their own payment processor. Unfortunately as a result I think we'll be waiting a very long time before we see Stripe integration or similar that would handle this natively which is a shame as I'd personally pay more for the software if it allowed more freedom in payment processor selection. I've also heard nothing to suggest Quickbooks Payments itself has USD support anywhere on its roadmap unfortunately.
As to your last question, Quickbooks method of auto-billing is a little weird and is created by recurring sales receipts. The customer doesn't setup the profile directly from the invoice. Instead, you send them an approval form to bill their card automatically, then you manually set up their card to be charged each month. Although the rest of the software is fantastic, you'll really need to use a separate invoicing solution for Quickbooks to support your needs.
Hi, RVgeeks.
Yes, it’s possible. To do so, you’ll want to activate your multi-currency feature. Please note that this feature is irreversible once turned on.
Once activated, you’ll need to create a new customer under USD currency. Your current customers and accounts will automatically be under with your home currency and won’t be able to alter.
Once you’ve already created a new customer, you can follow the steps in this article for setting up recurring transaction:

Let me know if there’s anything else you need.
That's great, MikiD! Thanks so much for the response.
One follow-up question... is it also possible for those recurring invoices to auto-bill the customer? And by that I mean having their credit card information on file, so that when the invoice generates, it automatically charges their card?
And is that something I control from my end? Or is it something the customer has to configure when they receive the first invoice (i.e. check a box allowing their credit card details to be stored in the QB Payments interface and auto-billed)?
Thanks!

@mike120 - Thanks for the great info. I guess I'll have to stick with the third party system I'm using now (unfortunately)!
How do you set up the automatic billing that will automatically bill the customer with credit card or ACH information.
Hello bizman2133. It's great to have you connect with us here. I'll be glad to assist with getting you back on track with your work. To make sure we're both on the same page, are you looking to set up automatic billing on your account for a US customer?
