Searh Invoice Items By MPN?

Howdy,

We're trying to make it so MPN field is searchable when you create an invoice. Is this possible?

Currently only the ITEM COLUMN is searchable.

All of our items have Manufacturer's Part Number filled, out

How can we make the MPN column searchable on the INVOICE?

The invoice function you've described above isn't available in QuickBooks. I see the benefit of having this function and I encourage you to send feedback about this to our engineers. You can do this by clicking on the Help menu and looking for Send Feedback Online. I also recommend looking into third-party apps on our site that can help you with this. You can search for these apps on our site desktop.apps.com. I suggest choosing an app that suits your business needs based on the app description and reviews.

Thanks for your reply! I submitted a request for this.

This feature would shave off hours / days / months of needless search for correct Product SKU.

All we would need is a dropdown when you enter an MPN and just choose the right product out of the list.

Example:

Search for MPN: 01JK

Give you list of:

SKU: 0001

SKU: 0002

SKU: 0003

This search by all fields already exists on the Lists -> Item List when you search for a product.

Any field in the item's configuration can be used to find the product, so why not implement the same thing when you search for a product in the Invoice interface?

Apparently customers have been asking for additional searchable fields for a decade or more to no avail. And then they suggest a 3rd party app. I have enterprise with advanced inventory and they say we need a 3rd party app which is silly. QB point of sale had better search capabilities than enterprise with advanced inventory does and that is sad and as far I can tell intuit doesn't seem to care. The work around is silly to. On the drop down under the searchable item field you can click 'find and select' but it takes over a minute for that window to pop up and you can only add one unique item at a time and then must wait for the window to pop up again. It makes no sense that the other fields are searchable in the item list and inventory center but it seems a bridge too far to add that capability to sales receipts, invoices and purchase orders. Why intuit expects every employee to know thousands of really long part numbers by heart is beyond me.
