Why don't my customers get the autopay option on their invoices?

I have set up recurring monthly invoices for my clients, and I have set up online payment, which I know works as my clients have been using it to pay with their credit cards. However, when my clients get their emailed invoices and click through the link to pay by credit card, they get the option to save their credit card for future use, but not to set up autopay.

I have a QuickBook Essentials account. I have followed everything in the below instructions and I have not been able to make autopay show up as an option. I need some help figuring out why.

Glad to have you back here in the QuickBooks Community. I can see the benefit of having auto-pay as an option on your invoices so you can get paid faster and automatically. Rest assured, I'll be glad to share more info and help make sure you're on the right track with your goals. 

 

It's important to note that the article you've highlighted above is for QuickBooks USA. Since the function described in the article isn't available on the Canadian version of QuickBooks, I recommend taking advantage of the recurring receipts function. This allows you to automatically charge your customer's card at a date that you set up on your end. Here's a helpful article that provides more info about how to:  

Create recurring transactions in QuickBooks Online. The article does a great job at showing you how to use and enter a recurring entry in QuickBooks. I encourage you to check it out and let me know if you need anything else as you go through the article.

Why don't my customers get the autopay option on their invoices?

I agree with the other guy. I have been waiting for AutoPay to come to Canada for years and, instead, have had to use other platforms like Wave and Freshbooks to do it. Why can't I do this with QBO Canada if it's available in the USA? This is a pretty basic feature that so many others have already implemented. Help small businesses with their recurring revenue! The other feature you mentioned about auto invoicing or auto payment receipts is archaic and barely works.

I can see that autopay would be a feature that you'd like to see in the Canadian version of QuickBooks Online. I recommend leaving feedback in the system of your QuickBooks account by clicking on the Gear Icon, then Feedback, as the comments made in that section are considered by the developers for future updates of the program.
