Hi true_d01,
It's a pleasure to see you in Community. Welcome! QuickBooks Online provides the ability to un-file a sales tax return in situations such as this. I'd be happy to show you how!
Keep in mind, you'll only be able to un-file the most recent filing. If you need to un-file historical filings, you must un-file them in reverse, until you reach the desired filing. It's important that you print the associated Exception reports for tracking purposes. They'll become regular transactions for the un-filed periods.
Follow these steps to un-file sales tax;
1. Open Taxes and then Sales Tax, from the left menu
2. Select the Filings tab
3. Locate the sales tax filing you need to un-file
4. In the Action column, open the drop down menu and select Undo filing.

sales tax does not have an option to unfile
Hi there, @LAURA2010. To unfile a sales tax return in QuickBooks, you must obtain permission from your accountant or bookkeeper. If they are using QBO Accountant, they have the option to file a sales tax return, which allows them to make the necessary corrections.
Alternatively, if you don’t have an accountant, you can reach out to our Live Support team during their available support hours. They will help you revise and file your sales tax return to ensure it complies with government regulations.
