Did you use the sales tax code in the manual journal?
I did not get your question. Can you please little bit explain in it?
Thank you,
Hi there Sh2295,
It's important that your tax accounts are correctly set up so that all their balances are correct. QuickBooks Online allows you to create journal entries in order to be able to move money from one account to another. I can provide some information about journal entries and taxes.
In order to know which line of your return to affect while entering an amount affecting the Taxes payable account, you'd need to select the line of your tax return for the row by clicking on the Taxes drop-down and choosing the line of the return.
If you have any other questions, feel free to reach out here.
Can you please send me the information regarding tax codes and journal entries as I am having the same issue.
Hi there JLG5,
It's important that all information in your transactions be entered correctly so that your books can be well balanced. QuickBooks Online is a great tool able to help you keep track of taxes on transactions so that you know the amount to file. I can point you in the right direction for assistance with the taxes on journal entries.
If you select the Taxes payable account as a line in your journal entry, you must select the line of the tax filing you want to affect in the tax drop-down for the row. To know which line of the tax report you need to be affecting, you'd need to reach out to your accountant for assistance. Their accounting knowledge will be able to help guide you in the choice of line to affect. You can add your accountant as a user to your QuickBooks account by going to the My accountant tab. You can also find an accountant near you that has experience using QuickBooks by clicking on the Find a pro to help button located in that section.

Hello and thank you for your assistance.
I am also wondering why the tax report does not include other revenue such as PST Commission and Other Revenue?
Are these not reportable revenue for PST and GST remittance?
Julie
