Adding a user with view-only access isn't available in QuickBooks Online (QBO), Nancy.
With that in mind, you can explore the user roles available in the Essentials plan instead. For a clearer understanding of user permissions, click the View role descriptions link. Check out the image below for visual reference.
After reviewing the options, you can now add a new user and select the access permissions closest to your initial preferences or the one that best aligns with your needs.
On top of that, you can explore the custom role feature. This functionality is included in the Advanced plan and allows you to create and manage tailored user roles. If you're interested, you can upgrade your current plan at any time.
