Hi everyone
I have a real head-scratcher for you today. I recently went through the process of becoming a QBO ProAdvisor, and the Advanced certification so now I have this really nifty Accountant/ProAdvisor account from QuickBooks with all sorts of extra bells and whistles (it's super great, like seriously if you're considering it, do it).
Here's the rub.
I've already been doing business in an existing QBO account for a bit over a year. I'd love to merge the accounts so that all my existing transaction history stays in the data (including receipt images, bank matches, etc) but phone support tells me this isn't an option. (What?!) -- I've already hit the Feedback button with that one, believe you me!
So, has anyone else run up against this wall? Did you just live with two accounts, managing your clients through your accountant login but billing them from the other?
Also, support peeps perusing this note, the 'ProAdvisor account manager' email [email address removed] bounces back undeliverable so might be worth updating on the site.

Hey there @LeithG. It's good to hear from you and I hope you're doing well!
I'm so glad that you've ventured into the realm of becoming a QuickBooks-certified ProAdvisor - your contributions to our Community don't go unnoticed so I love that you're taking the next step to expand on the guidance you offer. I hear what you're saying though, and having all of your business details in an existing QBO account definitely poses a challenge, since I'm sure you want to take advantage of the additional features that come with a QuickBooks Online Accountant subscription for you and your clients.
Our support team was correct when they informed you that there's no option to merge your accounts so that your existing data can combine with your new data in your QBOA account. I appreciate that you've used the option to submit Feedback on this and I'll be sure to pass this along to my team as well since I can see the value in a function that allows account merging.
I'm sure you're aware of the options to export your data from your QBO subscription, and the ability you have to import that data into your QBOA account. This isn't a perfect solution because not all of your data will transfer and it can be a time-consuming process, taking away time that could be better spent doing what you love. In case you'd like a refresher, here are a few articles on the Export and Import process:
I'll leave this thread to our other Community members now so that they might chime in and provide their experiences and opinions. Somebody else is bound to have run into a similar scenario and they'll be able to advise you on what worked best for them. I'll also pass along the message that some of our ProAdvisor Account Managers have incorrect email addresses so that this can be rectified. As you'll notice, the email address you shared has been removed from the post so I cannot address the specific manager you're referring to, but if you'd like me to feel free to reach out on Social Media to share the details and I'll take a look into it further: Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram.
Don't hesitate to reach out if you have other questions or concerns. My team and I are here to help!

Thanks Rebecca!
Yeah, I figured it was bad news all around but was holding out hope of some magic.
I considered doing the export but holy heck, do I ever have better things to do lol.
Thanks anyway!
Good morning @Rebecca R
In fishing around a bit more, I found this old article that talks about QBO Advanced and migrating data between companies. Seems like this might be what I'm looking for, but apparently, this only exists on the US side so far. Do you have any insight or news from dev on whether making this feature available in Canada is on a roadmap?
Hi again, Leith.
It's great to see you were doing more research into your options to make sure you have the best solution for you. As you've mentioned, QBO Advanced is a US product and the option to transfer data like in that version of the software is not available to Canada at this time.
I don't have any insight on when or if it'll be added to the Canadian platform, so the best course of action in the meantime is to submit feedback for this as well. I see you've already submitted feedback about not being able to combine the two QBO accounts, but if you'd like to also submit feedback about the specific feature you've seen for QBO Advanced, feel free. We also recently released the QuickBooks Online Feature and Product Updates page, which you can bookmark and review from time to time to see what's new in QBO. That way, you'll be in the know.
Wishing you the best!
Hi Rebecca,
I accidently signed up an Quickbooks accountant account with my QBO account user name and password, so every time I tried to log into my own QBO account I signed into the accountant account, how can I get my QBO back? I tried to change the email and user id in the accountant account, but I still signed into the accountant account with my orginal QBO account user name and password.
Hello Exporter100. Just to confirm, are you using the same email address across the accounts in question?
You have clicked a link to a site outside of the QuickBooks or ProFile Communities. By clicking "Continue", you will leave the community and be taken to that site instead.
