How do I add Payroll to my company

Good morning iamcdn63-gmail-c,

I hope you had an awesome weekend! You can add payroll by selecting your Payroll Tab from the left hand side menu, and following the the Add Payroll Guide.

Once you have added payroll to your company file, you will want to ensure it set up correctly so your off to a great start!

I love that you're interested in the Payroll add-on service for QuickBooks Online! Lourdes has you off to a good start here with the direction to go to the Payroll tab, and I just wanted to take a moment to share another resource you can take advantage of.

 

The video that Lourdes shared should be able to help you with the gist of setting up Payroll. I see that it's a bit of an older video though, and there have been a number of changes since it was uploaded by our team. As an example, the video directs you to the Employees tab in the left menu of the program, but that's now called the Payroll tab. Since there have been those kinds of updates, I recommend also reviewing the help articles available in our QuickBooks Online Payroll help article hub, which goes over tasks from the initial setup, to adding direct deposit, to reports and taxes. It's a great resource for getting started with the Payroll module.

 

Oftentimes as well, when you start a Payroll subscription, it triggers a request with our Payroll Onboarding team. This team can help you get set up and guide you toward running your first payroll. Keep an eye out for them as they may reach out to you via email with an onboarding appointment offer.

 

After you've run your first payroll, or if you're having trouble turning on Payroll, feel free to contact our support team using one of the following options.

 

Schedule a Callback or start a Chat: click (?)Help in the upper right in QuickBooks Online > type and enter "Contact support" into the QB Assistant > click Contact Us > explain your situation > click Let's Talk > choose Get a callback or Start a Chat.
