Hello c-bcontractingan,
Thanks for reaching out here in the QuickBooks Community for help with this. Sometimes it's necessary to have a record of the data that's entered into your accounting software for tax or other legal purposes. I want to explain how and under what circumstances you'll be able to access the account to export the relevant data.
When a QuickBooks Online subscription is cancelled, it remains accessible in read-only view for 365 days after cancellation. If your subscription was cancelled less than a year ago, you'll be able to sign-in as normal in order to export the data you need as an Excel document. Check out this article to learn more about how to Export reports, lists, and other data from QuickBooks Online.
After the 365 days has lapsed after cancelling your subscription, your data is permanently deleted from the system. In this case, you won't be able to retrieve the data. If you're in the position where you can still access your account, I suggest exporting any and all data you might need so that once the data is deleted, you'll have the data saved on your computer. You can learn more about what happens when you cancel your subscription here: Cancel your QuickBooks Online subscription.
I know that being able to fetch your data once your subscription has been lapsed for a year is very important in some scenarios. I encourage you to use the Feedback option from the Gear icon to let our product development team hear your thoughts.
If there's anything else you need support with, don't hesitate to reach out. It's what I'm here for.
My cancelation was Dec. 26, 2023. But I can't reach my data, please let me know how I can access my data.
I need the data for 2023 tax report.
Hi lili10,
As mentioned above, QuickBooks Online let's you access your company data for one year from the date of a cancelled subscription. Although you will have 'read-only' access, you can still export your data, so you can save it for future reference. To access your data, you'll sign into your QuickBooks Online account, with your login credentials. Here's how to export your data.
Feel free to reach back out with other questions. We would be glad to help!
