Hello mahandra,
Welcome back to the QuickBooks Community! It's been a while since we last heard from you, so I hope that you've been doing well since then. I know how important it is to ensure that you have the correct business name and information in your books so that your records are accurate and you're effectively communicating with your customers. I can go over how this works in QuickBooks Self-Employed.
The Self-Employed version of QuickBooks is designed to keep things simple, but I can see how changing these kinds of details wouldn't quite be as straight forward as you might be expecting. As @Lourdes-Fernandez mentioned, one place to change information related to your account is in the About you subsection of the settings through the Gear icon, which is related to your Intuit account and login details. When it comes to your business details, however, there's another place you'll want to look.
To see where else you can edit information about your business, click the Edit work info option at the bottom of an invoice the next time you create or open one. This will bring up a side-panel, where you can change the information your customer sees on the invoice sent to them. The Name field could be your name or a business name, and then you can enter the other details as needed to. These are not linked to your Intuit login, so if your details, such as name and email, are a bit different when communicating with your customers, that's okay.
At this time, there isn't an option to add a business number anywhere in the books. I can see why you'd want to include that sort of detail, however, so I encourage you to submit feedback so our product team can learn the ways they might enhance the program. Here's how to do that.
If having these kinds of details is integral to you, another option you could consider is QuickBooks Online. Since it's designed for small business owners, it includes fields like business number and company name and so forth. Here are a few links you can consider to decide if this would be a good switch for you.
Wishing you the best with this!
