There are a variety of third-party applications that works with QuickBooks Online (QBO) to help you run your business. This helps business to get more from their QBO account. Linking to different third party applications gives you more options to help assist you in any way.
To sync your Joist data (i.e. contacts, clients, estimates, invoices, and income) to your QBO account, I'd recommend contacting the Joist Support team. They have their QuickBooks sync feature where it lets you transfer files into the system. This way, you can effectively manage your transactions.

Hello razzyblack-gmail,
It's great that you're looking to sync third-party services with your version of QuickBooks so that you can more seamlessly work with your data between programs. I know how handy this can be, and I appreciate what you've shared to this point about the trouble you're having with it. I can shed some light on this.
I see that you've tagged QuickBooks Self-Employed as the product you're using, and that may be where the issue is stemming from here. When it comes to QuickBooks Self-Employed Canada, there aren't partner apps that can sync with the program like QuickBooks Online has available, and in many cases, third-party services don't have an integration for their end of things either. If you're trying to sync Joist to QuickBooks Self-Employed through the Joist program, it may be that it's not supported and that's why it's not recognizing your user credentials when you try.
I found this page through Joist's website that suggests it's only for QuickBooks Online accounts, but you can check with Joist support to be sure: What is Joist <> QuickBooks? It'll also be work checking if their integration applies to the Canadian product or not.
As I mentioned, QuickBooks Self-Employed Canada doesn't have compatibility with other apps, so please note that the information shared already on this thread is for QuickBooks Online rather than QuickBooks Self-Employed. Additionally, the third-party app link shared is for QuickBooks Online US, so the options listed there could differ even from QuickBooks Online.
If you would like to consider switching to QuickBooks Online Canada, however, here are some links with more about that version of the product and how you could switch if you'd like.
I hope this has helped to clear some of this up. I'll be here if you have more QuickBooks questions.
