Hi all,
I've tried resolving this question by contacting QBO support, sadly without result. I am told that everything works as intended, so I am wondering if anyone else experiences this issue. I am looking for any suggestion on how to work around this, because as soon as the switch from classic - modern is made permanent, I will not be able to use this report. And it's a big one.
Classic view displays all of our clients A-Z, no problems there. The modern look, however, is a different story - after a certain # of clients (I think it's once it gets past 100), the modern look just bunches up the rest as "other" and sums up all the costs and expenses for those clients. Currently I cannot look at any client past the letter "L", and if I would like to look at ex. "Smith Ross", I cannot do that.
Thanks,
Kate
Hello there, Kate.
I recognize the significance of having complete visibility into all profit and loss data for your customers.
Since the modern view is set to replace the classic view permanently, I highly encourage you to submit detailed feedback directly to our QuickBooks Product Development team so they can consider adding this functionality in the future.
Here's how you can submit feedback:
In the meantime, you can still use the classic view of the Profit and Loss by Customer Report instead of the modern view.
You can also adjust the Reporting period to reduce the number of customers shown in the report. If your total number of customers for a longer reporting period (e.g., monthly) exceeds 100, consider running the report with a weekly reporting period to generate a smaller dataset.
If you have other questions and concerns, feel free to comment them below.
Hello,
Thank you for your response.
I have already submitted a request to look into this issues, QuickBooks Care team opened the case and closed it. I have communicated the issue via screen share, by recording and sharing videos. Here is a message that I have received: "Status Update - Investigation Closed. Our engineers have determined this is working as designed. We appreciate your understanding and encourage you to share your concerns or ideas via the in-product Feedback tool." Hence I am submitting my inquiry here, to see if I am the only one with this issue. So I am not sure if opening the case again will help at all, if the issue is considered non existent.
The problem with adjusting reporting date range is that some of our projects could be ongoing for months, so the same issue will come up (too many customers on the report). And we do need to see the full picture, start to finish.
Thanks,
Kate
