Question

QuickBooks backups

I have the number of backups to keep set at 3, with a reminder to back up on every fourth program close.  When I do the backup, I get a popup message asking me if I want to delete the 4th oldest backup.  Of course I do... it's why I said I only want to keep three backups.  Is there a way to suppress the popup message?

Hi ScottCoffey,

Welcome to QuickBooks Community!  I can see how these pop-ups can have a negative impact on your day, while trying to complete your bookkeeping goals in a timely fashion.  QuickBooks Desktop provides the option to turn these off within your company file.  I'd be glad to show you how!

Follow these steps to turn off pop-up messages;

1. Select Edit and then Preferences

2. From the left menu, open General

3. Open My Preferences tab

4. Checkmark the box to Turn off pop-up messages for products and services

5. Check the boxes for all other preferences as you see necessary

6. Hit OK when finished

Please don't hesitate to contact us, if you require additional assistance.

I'm pretty sure that the option you mention is to suppress messages like offers from QuickBooks to take credit cards, or activate payroll features.  Anyway, I already have Turn off pop-up messages for products and services checked.  It must be something else.
