Custom fields for projects to be used in timesheets

Hello,

We would like to create custom properties for projects. These properties will then be fields in QuickBooks Time timesheets, but the catch is that they will be auto-selected for the employee entering their time for the appropriate project.

An example of this is whether a certain project qualifies for a bonus payment. We want to be have this as a toggle field. If the employee logs in hours for the project, one of the fields that will emerge on the timesheet will be the bonus qualification. However, its value (yes/no) has to be something that the admin can set, not the employees.

Thank you very much!

To ensure this is the best fit for your business needs, I encourage you to speak with our Sales team at 1-888-829-8589.

Custom fields for projects to be used in timesheets

Hi Trish,

Thank you for your response. However, I'm interested in setting the information for projects specifically. Then, when we track time for those projects in QB Time, the time entries will have the data included.

For example, let's say I have Project A which is bonus-qualified on September 27 and then we decide to make it not bonus-qualified on September 28.

Employee B logs time on September 27. They put 1 hour for Project A, which is bonus-qualified. Then on September 28, they put 2 hours for Project A, and this is not bonus-qualified.

The time sheet show something like:

September 27

1 hour

Employee B

Project A

Bonus Qualified

September 28

2 hours

Employee B

Project A

Not Bonus Qualified

The admin would be the one to control the bonus qualification status.

We're also interested in setting other project-specific properties, such as billing rates.

Hi Amanda,

Yes I see that and appreciate her response. However, this is a separate question altogether.

Hi stepping-stone,

You can bill your customer directly from tracked time,  when you activate the billable time setting.  Once you’ve entered billable timesheets, they'll be available to add to new invoices. Find out more about how to invoice your customers for billable expenses and timesheets.

Should you require additional assistance, please don't hesitate to contact us outside of this forum. It would be our pleasure to work with you in real time, and ensure you're able to accomplish your QuickBooks goals without delay!

Feel free to reach out with other questions. We are always glad to help!
