Exporting online version to a desktop file

I am being told that I cannot export my online version to a desktop file.

Does anyone have experience with this?

I am in Canada and they tell me it can't be done with the Canadian version.

Help, I need it for my accountant

Exporting online version to a desktop file

Hi wayco,

Welcome to the Community. Picking the best software for your needs is what QuickBooks is all about. I'd be happy to point you in the right direction on how to move to QuickBooks Desktop.

At this moment, you can move data from QuickBooks Online into a QuickBooks Desktop company file by manually exporting data to Excel or by considering using a third-party application or service. I encourage you to check out this helpful article with more info on how to: Export Data out of QuickBooks Online. I recommend you also check this article that shows you how to Import and export data in QuickBooks Desktop.  You can also review this article that guides you in  Getting started with QuickBooks Desktop.

If you'd like to include in QuickBooks Online a direct way to move data from QuickBooks Online to QuickBooks Desktop, I encourage you to send us Feedback under the Gear icon at the top. This is sent to our Development Team to be considered for future updates.

Let me know if you have any questions, I'll be happy to help.
