Hi,
We are running both regional version QB Cadana and QB USA on same Computer.
What we do is we run 1 version behind for QB USA.
So currently we are on QB Canada enterprise 2024 and QB USA enterprise 2023.
Now we got notice that QB USA enterprise 2023 is end of support by May 2026.
Since now QB is stop releasing new version number, we cannot upgrade QB Canada to next version number i.e 2025 or 2026
Due to this now I cannot upgrade my QB USA 2023 to 2024 as it detects that 2024 already install. But inface is it not 2024 USA version.
We need to use both region versions of QB on same PC.
What to do now?
Why do you have to upgrade your Desktop US Enterprise to 2024? Do you only have Enterprise Silver plan or do you always use the bank feed feature?
Hello, PiyushHunter. The reason your computer reports that 2024 is already installed is that QuickBooks Desktop uses shared version and installer components. QuickBooks does not support mixing regional versions directly on the same Windows installation, which is why the installer treats the newer version as already present.
You may consider using a virtual machine or a web hosting service to create a separate environment for one regional version, while keeping the other region on the host Windows system.
I’ll keep this thread open in case you have any updates or need anything else.
2023 is end of support
Hi,
Virtual and web hosting is no an option.
We already has setup file server and remote desktop server.
All my user log in to remote desktop server to access both QB.
File server also running both region database server.
It seems QB is forcing user to user online version.
We should be able to user both region on same computer regardless of verison.
Hi PiyushHunter, you can consider having an IT professional check the setup or perform a custom installation to ensure the system recognizes the two versions separately. They can help choose distinct folders for the USA and Canada versions.
I'll leave this thread open in case you have any updates or need further assistance.
Are you running QB Desktop Enterprise Silver? How many user license do you have?
Hi GrianSeth,
I am IT here in Hunter Express.
As I mention in original post we are running both USA and CANADA region on same server for years.
All we do is run USA one version behind the Canada version.
So currently we are running Canada 2024 and USA 2023 without any issue.
The problem is USA 2023 is going to End of Support and QuickBooks stop making numbered version after 2024.
So latest version available on both region is 2024.
I spent 3 hours yesterday with support and support also said it seems not possible having Canada 2024 install on machine and try to install USA 2024, the installation process simply say it detected 2024 version so it just give me repair option.
If QB is continue releasing numbered version then we wont be having this issue. As we were running same set up for years. ie. just run USA QB one version behind to CANDA QB.
I am running Enterprise we have 8 users license.
I recommend renewing your license this year through a reseller and getting a significant discount. The money you save will be more than enough to buy a new PC with 16GB of RAM as a dedicated server for QB Desktop US Enterprise.
