Quickbooks Pro Desktop - Fixed Asset Item List Depreciation not showing

No joy I'm afraid.  I'm beginning to think that the FAM is not something that is part of the Desktop Pro version.  Strange since the columns are there, just not populated with numbers. I can't even get to a Fixed Asset manager menu, setting etc.

I have a question along these lines.

I'm using Quick Books Pro 2019, it has Fixed Item List, but there is no feature to setup the scheduled depreciation. Why is this hear but not all of it?

That's a great question and I can appreciate how seeing what appears to be part of a feature but not the entire thing could be confusing. I'll clarify what's going on.

Despite the response above, QuickBooks Desktop Canada does not have the option for the Fixed Asset Manager tool. At this time, customers can use the Fixed Asset Item List to help with managing these sorts of transactions in the program. The list brings up asset items you set up to track the changes in value to them, and it can be used to track transactions linked to these items. I've pulled these details from an in-product QuickBooks Desktop article, which you can access by following these steps.

1. Select Help from the top menu, then choose QuickBooks Desktop Help (Note: You can also achieve this by pressing the F1 key on your keyboard).
2. Click the Help tab.
3. Click Search.
4. Type fixed asset item list into the search bar and hit enter.

This will populate not only the "Use the Fixed Asset Item list" I found the above information in, but also other helpful articles for managing fixed assets in QuickBooks Desktop.

This is the second time I have seen this kind of message...

"Simply click F1 and type "***" you will find your answer."

That does not work for me.  When I go to the in-product Help> QuickBooks Desktop Help (F1), type my question criteria, then I get a long list of articles that seem to be from QB forums. 

For example:  I, too, am trying to figure out how to account for depreciation of my assets with my 2019 Desktop Pro.  I typed "fixed asset item list" as you suggested.  My response to this query was the following:  "Use the Accountants Copy", "Convert a QB for Windows file to QB for Mac" followed by (literally) 2060 more "articles" which are just forum responses to questions other users have asked.  

What am I doing wrong that I can't find articles that were written by QB for my specific QB program?  Many of the articles do not relate to my version of QB at all.

***How do I enter assets and track depreciation in 2019 QB Desktop Pro?***  That's all I need to know. 

Truthfully, I spend hours surfing Google to find answers to basic questions because the 'Help' features of QB are harder to navigate. 

This is my first year using QB and Youtube videos are the only reason I did not switch to a different program this year.   I would never have survived the "Help" functions of QB.
