Hi there,
Welcome to the Community. QuickBooks is a versatile program that helps you streamline your accounting with ease. I'll be happy to steer you in the right direction so you can get back to doing what you enjoy.
The ability to bulk delete customers isn't available in QuickBooks. You're more than welcome to send feature requests by clicking on the Gear icon and looking for Feedback. New product ideas and improvements are largely based on the feedback we get from users like you. As a workaround I recommend looking into third-party apps on our app store www.apps.com. In the meantime, I suggest checking out this article here that shows you how to individually delete a customer.
Let me know if you have other questions by leaving a comment below. I'll be one message away.
Thanks but that's not a suitable option.
Hi sam-g-rahal-gmai,
I can see how beneficial it would be to tidy up your customer list to avoid duplications. However, as mentioned by my colleague, the option to delete customers isn't available at this time. As an alternative you can make them inactive to remove them from the list. Here's how;
1. From the left menu, open Sales and then Customers
2. Locate and select the Customers in the list
3. Click on the ▼ dropdown beside Batch actions
4. Select Make Inactive

Again that's just too inefficient when we're looking at 300+ clients. I saw somewhere that the best thing to do if one is just beginning the setup of the system is to close/delete the company and create a new one. I think that is the way to go given the inflexibility of the system.
Hi there sam-g-rahal-gmai,
I can point you in the right direction to start over. If you have an account that is less than 60 days old, you can follow the steps in this article to delete all data in the account to start over.
