Tried to merge two accounts but the prompt but says can't merge two accounts that have online info
Hello epotter,
Merging accounts is a great way to make sure your transactions and data stay organized. I have a feeling you've already had a chance to review the Merge Accounts, Customers, and Suppliers article, so let's move on to this message you're seeing.
There are a few reasons a message like this would be coming up. Accounts in the chart of accounts can be linked to something online in the following ways: through the banking feed, via a third party application, or through a third party service. If any of these apply to either of the accounts that you're trying to merge, the program won't allow you to do so. You'll need to sever the online connection first.
To get further help with this or if your accounts aren't affected by one of the things I mentioned above, I encourage you to get in touch with support. An agent will be able to review your setup with you and look at the error message to let you know how to move forward. All the best to you!
We had a few clients merging their data file some reasons by purchasing a 3rd party merging service. We found some data cannot be merged
