I'd be happy to go over invoices and how to add additional details, such as a PO number to them.
Since QuickBooks Self-Employed doesn't offer a purchase order feature, it sounds like you may be tracking those outside of the program in some other way. That's good! I appreciate how having reference to those details in your QuickBooks is useful, however, and I've got a suggestion for something you can consider.
When you're working with an invoice in QuickBooks Self-Employed, there are a few places you can add information, such as the Description, Payment details, or Message fields. Keep in mind, these are each fields your customer would see, so if you don't want your customer to see the PO number, those won't quite do the trick.
At this time, there isn't a way to include the PO number so that it would be for your reference only. This is the perfect opportunity to submit feedback to our product development team, letting them know what you'd like to see while using QuickBooks Self-Employed. Here's how you can share your thoughts.
- Select the Assistant feature.
- Type and entre "Feedback."
- Follow the prompts to leave feedback.
For a wider range of features, you can also consider QuickBooks Online. That version of QuickBooks is designed to give business owners more options and customization to record their transactions in a more detailed way.
