Hi Stacey,
I'm happy to have you join us in the Community. It'll be a pleasure to show you how to edit the message body on your estimates so they stand out.
To do this, you'll need to customize the estimate template by clicking on the Gear icon > Custom Form Styles > select Edit next to the estimate template > navigate to the Emails tab and edit the message body. I'll attach a screenshot below for reference. Once you're done editing, don't forget to click Done and save the edits you've made.
The next time you Save and Send an estimate, you should see the new custom message already pre-filled. You can also edit your invoice template the same way as described above. Here's a helpful article which will show you how to customize invoices, templates etc. : Customize your invoices, estimates, and sales receipts in QuickBooks Online.
In case you have further questions, don't hesitate to reach out. I'll be happy to give you a hand. :)
I'm having the same issue. The message body isn't the issue. Its the summary thats being sent. Looks really bad!
I'd like to help you resolve this email body format concern in QBO, @Milton4,
If you're referring to the fonts we can check if the settings was set to, let's check or toggle your email settings to refresh the transmission. Follow these steps:
After that, try resending the invoice and see it it changes the format this time.
Kindly update me with the result as I want to make sure you can send formal invoices to your clients. I'll be right here also if you need further help with the steps.
I ended up doing this in the custom forms section. I removed the full summary and seems to be working. Looks alot cleaner!
Is there a way to customize to a specific font for my brand?
Thanks for your prompt response, @Milton4.
It's good to see you remove the full summary in the custom form section to get a cleaner form.
On the other hand, we're currently unable to customize a specific font for your brand. In the meantime, the available font styles are Arial Unicode MS, Courier, Helvetica, and Times New Roman when you click the Select a different font option. You may want to choose one of the known options.
Here's how:

Hi Quickbooks Team,
thanks for all your work on here answering our questions.
I have the same question as the original post which is to make the ody of an email for ESTIMATES the same as invoices.
When i send invoices the body of the email looks really professional but for estimates it looks like just plain text. The option you explained only applies to invoices, it says "additional email options for invoices" and then allows you to select online invoice or plain text. However I do not have an issue with invoices. It is already set to "online invoice" and appears how I would like it to. I'd like to make my estimates appear as online estimates rather than plain text.
Can you help?
THanks
Sam
Thanks for letting us know your needs regarding the estimate template preference in QuickBooks Online, @samueladdo.
At the moment, the system can only allow you to set preferences for invoices, not for estimates. Being able to format the email body for estimates would be a great addition in the program. While this option is not yet available for now, we encourage you to send this as a suggestion to our developers.
Here at Intuit, we aim to understand better our customer's business needs within the software. This is why we welcome product suggestions to help improve our products and services. Changes in the program are released based on several factors, so we're unable to provide the turnaround time on when new features are released in QuickBooks. This info is controlled and handled mainly by the Developers Team.
You can share your suggestion within the program by following these steps in a web browser:
