Hi there,
Welcome to the Community. I'll be happy to answer your question.
The Projects feature can only work with just one customer. I know how having multiple customers associated with a project can benefit you. I encourage you to send feedback about this to our engineers by clicking the gear icon and looking for Feedback. New product ideas and improvements are largely based on the feedback we get from users like you. For more info about Projects, check out the following articles:

Converting existing sub-customers into project
Let me know if you have questions.
We are construction company, having 4 operational projects of apartment buildings etc, each project is sold to multiple customers. Which means that multiple customers have purchased individual apartments in the building which is considered as one project. We need to enter all of these customers against this project. These customers are paying us in installments based upon timelines and milestones. Our problem is not getting solved with permission of one customer against each project. Therefore we believe and request that there shall me permission of adding multiple customers against every project.
I hear you on this. Your feedback is valuable and I want to make sure you get the support you need. I recommend sending feedback to our engineers by clicking the Gear icon and looking for Feedback. Our engineers will keep you posted via email about any updates regarding the feature request. Let me know if you have other questions. I'm here to help.
More then 2 years ago this request. Still only one customer per project unfortunately. This would actually be a reason for us to switch to advanced. But in it's current form it's of no use to us.
Hi LaurensPP,
Thanks for taking the time to comment on this thread about assigning more than one customer to a project in QuickBooks Online. I want to make sure you're connecting with the right team to get the answers you're looking for regarding this, and I'm here to help.
Given that you've mentioned QuickBooks Online Advanced and that I see you've made several posts and comments in the US section of the QuickBooks Community forum, I suspect that you may be using a US edition of the program. If that's the case, I recommend reaching out in the US QuickBooks Community to get more insight on whether this option is available yet for any of the US packages.
It's possible to switch back to the US QuickBooks Community by clicking the link in my last paragraph or by selecting the flag at the top of the forum window and choosing the US one. There are often differences between the US and Canadian versions of the software, which is why this step is important.
If you are using the Canadian version of QuickBooks Online, however, please note that Projects is available in QuickBooks Online Plus and that there isn't an Advanced subscription package for Canada. Additionally, projects can still only be assigned to one customer, so I'm continuing to encourage folks to submit feedback using these steps: How do I submit feedback? You can stay on top of new updates for QuickBooks Online Canada here: QuickBooks Online Feature and Product Updates
Wishing you the best!
We're not using the US version, I am checking out the Advanced Trial. Also, which version I am using is extremely irrelevant for the feedback I posted here, but thanks for your input anyway!
Thanks for following up with me, LaurensPP. Since you'd mentioned potentially switching to Advanced if it had the features you were looking for, it sounded to me like you might have been using the US version since that's where that package is available. I wanted to make sure that you had the details you needed to get the information you were looking for.
If you're using QuickBooks Online Canada and would like to see further capabilities to the Projects feature available in Plus, please don't hesitate to use the feedback steps outlined in my last response. While sharing input in this forum is a great way to interact with other users, the feedback option outlined there is key for making sure our product development team sees your ideas.
I hope you have a great week.
I believe the only way to do this is by adding a dummy Customer that you project would be assigned to. And then add your clients as subcustomers of the Dummy customer.
To QuickBooks Online, Is there any update to this - ability to allocate more than one customer to a Project?
"...I believe the only way to do this is by adding a dummy Customer that you project would be assigned to. And then add your clients as subcustomers of the Dummy customer..."
This looks like a workaround that does require more effort. Means we would end up with an extra :Dummy customer for every projects.
This solution is not that hard to implement.
