Hello again gewow,
Thanks for the update about this error message coming up when you're trying to delete these transactions that were entered from Square in QuickBooks Online. I've read through the thread, and I can help take it from here to get you back on track.
Since the program is prompting you to restore the deleted "Square Customer" profile, that's where I recommend starting to resolve this. When it comes to changing transactions related to a deleted customer, it can mean reactivating the customer first, deleting the entries, and then making the customer inactive again afterward. It's a fairly easy process.
Once you've done that, go through and try to delete the transactions again. When you're done with those, you can head back to the Customers section, click the Square Customer name, choose Edit, and then Make inactive. Here's an article with more details about managing customers: Add and manage customers in QuickBooks Online
Give that a shot and keep us posted with how it goes! We're here for you.
Hi there gewow,
One way you can delete those transactions would be to go to the account history for the accounts mentioned in your last reply to find all transactions affecting those accounts. You can do so by navigating to the accounting tab, then Chart of accounts. You can find an account you want to view, then click on Account history located in the right column of the row. You'll then see a list of transactions that affect the account. If you were to want to delete a transaction, click on it, and a page to edit the transaction will open. At the bottom of the page, there should be a More section, which will include the Delete option. You can use this to delete any unwanted transactions you wish.
If you have any other questions, feel free to reach out here.

Hi Tammy
thanks for your reply
they are actually not in "all sales"
they are in 'invoices" and beside each one it says under customer "square customer (deleted)
then when i select all invoices to be deleted, it says:
"Some of these invoices are linked to other transactions. Are you sure you want to delete them?"
I select yes, then:
"There was a problem deleting some of your transactions. Please try again later."
Any other tips? thanks!
Hello gewow. Glad to hear back from you again. I'll be happy to assist you going forward. What happens when you try to delete the transactions using a private/incognito web browser window? Give this a try and feel free to reach back to me in the comments below, I'll be here to help.
Hey James
Same thing unfortunately
I also get "Customer assigned to this transaction has been deleted. Before you can modify this transaction, you must restore Square Customer (deleted)"
when I try to delete an individual invoice

that worked!
But now my accounts receivable, undeposited funds, and GST/HST payable are still filled with those transactions.
and in the "sales" tab, there are still all the transactions and I can't find a way to delete them
but the invoices tab is empty, so 1/2 way there!
Any tips on how to empty that?

any fast way of doing so?
thanks!
i just deleted them all manually, lol
thx

You're welcome, gewow. I'm glad to hear you were able to take care of these transactions. There are some instances where you'd be able to select multiple transactions and batch delete them, but in most cases it means going through them one by one. I can see how that would be a big task with as many transactions as you've mentioned, so I recommend sharing feedback about this with our product development team.
Using the steps in the article How do I submit feedback?, you'll be able to share your thoughts and ideas to have them forwarded to the product team for consideration in future updates. While they don't respond to feedback directly, they do read through them to learn the ways users are impacted by existing features and what can be changed to enhance the software. If you're interested in new features, check out and bookmark our QuickBooks Online Feature & Product Updates page.
Take care!
