Hi @waveswild-gmail-

I am not an accountant but it will be inventory.

Because this transaction falls into accounting territory, it's best to reach out to your accountant to make sure all the appropriate accounts are adjusted as they are trained on how to do this. If you don't have an accountant no need to worry, we can help. You can go to My Accountant>Find a pro to help to find an accountant in your area.

Kind regards,

Noelia

Hi waveswild-gmail-,

Being a small business owner takes a lot of drive and dedication. By choosing QuickBooks Self-Employed, you're choosing a program that simplifies the way you manage your transactions. Let me provide some details for you on the categories in your program.

QuickBooks Self-Employed provides you with a List of tax categories for self-employed individuals that aligns with your yearly tax forms. If you're unsure of where the items would fit, here's a link to the CRA site that explains the categories.: Business expenses. If you have any further questions about the tax categories, I recommend reaching out to an accounting professional. If you're not in contact with a professional, don't worry, you can search for one using this link Find an Accountant. In the meantime, check out this helpful article with more info on how to Categorize transactions in QuickBooks Self-Employed.

As Noelia Nievas mentioned, if you're purchasing items for resale, you're holding inventory and QuickBooks Online Plus is the version other than a desktop program that tracks physical inventory. The online product may be a better fit, if not now, than in the future. I include an article that explains how you'd Switch from QuickBooks Self-Employed to QuickBooks Online.

If you have any other queries, just reach back out. I'll be here. Have a marvellous day!
