Which customers are affected? 

Existing customers who are utilizing QuickBooks Desktop for Accountants in Canada. 

What are the new prices?

The new monthly subscription price is dependent on the number of users. The base subscription as of October 1, 2026 will be $215/month and a monthly cost including additional users of $215/month per user.

Why are your prices for the QuickBooks Desktop Accountant Bundle going up?

We remain committed to providing best-in-class desktop products and pricing for our valued accountants and their clients. This new pricing reflects the value the product provides and takes into account other offerings that are comparable in the marketplace. It also encourages businesses to evaluate both QuickBooks Online and QuickBooks Desktop, determining which product is the right fit based on business needs.

What about QuickBooks Online? Are prices changing for that as well? 

This price change is independent of any pricing related to QuickBooks Online and will only affect those using QuickBooks Desktop Accountant Bundle. However, prices are always subject to change as per our Terms of Service with QuickBooks Online/Intuit.

It’s great that you are advocating for small business owners to move to QuickBooks Online and we appreciate your support. We have spoken to Accountants who use the desktop software to migrate clients to online. Many charge a fee for migration services that covers the cost of the accountant’s time and effort, as well as the cost of the subscription, setting a price that makes sense for their business. Accountants who do not want to maintain a subscription have the following alternatives for migrating client books to online: 

1. Use the QuickBooks Online Migration Tool to upload a backup copy of their data
2. Work with the QuickBooks Online Service Delivery team (QBOA Account Manager refers)
3. Accountants can also start a fresh set of books for their client.
