Hi alyshacapeling,

You've been transferred to the Canadian Community. I'm glad to hear you've chosen QuickBooks Self-Employed to help you properly navigate your tax season. Making sure you have the correct regional version of the program ensures you have an accurate setup in terms of language, currency, and taxes. I'd be happy to guide you with this.

Because each version is specific to their region, there isn't any way to switch or migrate a US account to a Canadian one. To make sure you have a Canadian setup for your business, you'd have to create a new account under the right platform. You can find the Canadian version of QuickBooks Self-Employed here: CA QuickBooks Plans

I'd also recommend reaching out to the US Community to verify if you need to cancel your free trial account or not, so you don't end up getting billed twice at some point.

I hope this helps to clarify things for you! You're always welcome to stop by if you need anything else.

Just to confirm your reply; You're saying the is no way to input all of my 2020 info from the US version of QB to a platform that will recognize Canadian CRA tax law, yes?

I did open a second account at beginning of 2021 with QB self employed Canadian version, so as to avoid this confusion next year.

I attempted to cancel my US account but that concluded with an error message saying "SUBSCRIPTION IN PROGRESS"

are you able to explain this?
