Get help with QuickBooks products and services

You can get help by using the Help option inside your QuickBooks product to find answers to common questions about connecting with an expert, support hours, or availability. If you can’t find the answers you need, you can connect with an expert. Here’s how:

QuickBooks Online
These steps apply to:
- QuickBooks Online Simple Start, QuickBooks Online Lite, QuickBooks Online Essentials, QuickBooks Online Plus, QuickBooks Online Advanced, QuickBooks Online Accountant, ProAdvisor, or QuickBooks Solopreneur products.Â
- QuickBooks Online Payroll Core, QuickBooks Online Payroll Premium, QuickBooks Online Payroll Elite, and QuickBooks Time.Â
If you have QuickBooks Online Free, you can use our free self-serve resources in (?) Help or on the QuickBooks Learn and Support site . For expert service, upgrade to a paid subscription of QuickBooks Online.

- Sign in to QuickBooks Online.
- Select (?) Help.Â
- Select one of the following options to get help:
- Assistant tab: Enter your question in the Type or Ask Something field. QuickBooks Assistant will provide answers or options.Â
- Search tab: Enter your question in the Search questions, keywords, or topics field. You’ll get a list of related articles.Â

- Search tab: Select Contact Us.

QuickBooks Desktop
These steps apply to:
- QuickBooks Desktop Pro, Premier, Plus, and Enterprise. If you have QuickBooks Desktop Pro or Premier, unlimited support is available with a care plan. QuickBooks Plus and Enterprise include a care plan.
- QuickBooks Desktop Payroll Basic, Enhanced, Assisted
- Open QuickBooks Desktop.
- Go to the Help menu and select QuickBooks Desktop Help/Contact Us. This opens the Help window.
Tip: you can also press F1 on your keyboard to open the Help window. - Use the Search questions, keywords, or topics field to enter your question.Â
- You’ll get a list of related articles.
Connect with an expert
- If you don’t get the answers you need, select Contact Us in the help window. You can choose between getting a callback or chatting with us.
Tip: If you don’t see the Help menu, check your screen settings in QuickBooks Desktop or update its version.
