Question

Try to open QB Pro2011 but get error 3371 & don't have CD or registration #

While trying to free up room on my C drive, I may have inadvertently deleted QB files that I need. Now I can’t open QB 2011  I get “Error 3371 Status Code 11118 QB can't load license data”  I was going to try the 3371 fix in the tool Hub but I don’t have my my original CD or my registration info. Called QB but they mostly wanted to sell me new sofware. 

Where can I get my registration number (or whatever it needs) so I can open QB?  I know my version is old but it works fine for me. I thought Intuit would keep theses things on file.

You should contact ​@Fiat Lux_ASIA directly via email and ask for an old QB Desktop with a non subscription license (i.e 2019 - 2021) to upgrade your data. Although you can reinstall QB Desktop 2011 using your license, the server will block the reactivation attempt.

Hi JeraldR -  My Original problem - I couldn’t open QB on my desktop. It says some needed files were missing. Also I couldn’t find my License # or cust # or Product #.  I tried QB tech support and they sent a blank version of QB 2011 to my laptop. Then I did a deep search and found the numbers I needed  - (Cust #;Product #; License #) 

So now I have:

1.A good but blank version of QB 2011 on my laptop

2. A USB stick backup I did of a couple of months ago when my QB was running ok. It’s a .qbb file.  ​​​​​​​

  1. All my needed numbers  (Lic/Product/cust) 

I tried loading that backup into QB on the laptop and get updating it but I get the following message:

QB cannot open this company file because it was updated to a newer QB maintenance release than the one you are currently using. This was last used with release R5. You are currently using R2

Solution  - Update your copy of QB by downloading the latest maintenance release. To do this click update QB then follow the instructions to download the latest release. When the download is finished close & reopen QB. You’ll be prompted to to apply the update.

OR…

restore backup copy of this file that was made before the file was updated. 

To do this click Continue then click “Restore a backup file” in the No Company Open window

Can you guide me on what I should do? Thanks very much!
