New day, new issue with Quickbooks. My office admin noticed today that a recurring invoice that is usually set up for manual payment (‘let customer make payment’) is now scheduled for GoCardless direct debit payment. We thought it was our mistake, I then tried to disable GoCardless on that invoice, the toggle is switched off, I save, but when I refresh and open again - it is enabled again. I opened the issued invoice rather than the recurring template and the same happens, even if I select to save for this invoice only.I then noticed that any invoice that was set up for manual payment where that customer has an active GoCardless DD mandate has now switched to GoCardless payments. This is a particularly big issue for us as we sell some low margin items where the GoCardless fee can eat up a significant portion, for these services we have an invoice template which has a highlighted note to request manual payment. I can't cancel the mandate as for everything else that has a normal margin,

Everything on the credit card side says it is all good.

i need to add account codes but after enabling account codes and ticking the box to show the account codes on the chart of accounts there is no batch edit button to enable me to enter the account codes

Hi i have daily tracked and logged trips.how do i set this potential deduction so it shows as an expense for mtd quarterly update

Hey guys, just an office manager here of a small business that needs all the help I can get! a little backstory, I started with this company Aug 31st and they had just moved to QBO from desktop. As a result of that, someone had set up our account that the owner had hired, and I was tasked with entering all data from 2026- invoices, expense receipts, payments- the entire 2026 backlog up to that point. As you can imagine it took a couple of weeks, and some things are still being found and added. I reconciled each month based on the bank statements, or so I believed they were all reconciled. I have used QBO in other offices previously. I was attempting to reconcile September when I saw that the beg balance was roughly 136k dollars off. It took two days of tracing transactions, but I am glad to say that the bulk of it is handled- that being said, I got down to 715 and some change yesterday being the only amount of difference- most of it coming from matching/attaching I had done incorrectly

Only 2 of my 2026 bank statement have populated. Can this be fixed or will I have to manually input the 2026 expense data?

I want to file quarterly GST/HST but the GST/HST detail report does not match Sales Tax overview page's numbers, can someone advise how I can fix this error, please?

Someone else needs to access the phone while I’m gone and I need to add a passcode instead of facial id.

Running a business can keep you occupied from morning to night. There are customers to serve, orders to fulfill, expenses to manage, and countless decisions to make. But being busy does not always mean your business is moving forward. According to QuickBooks' July 2026 Small Business Insights survey, 79% of surveyed small businesses want to grow, while 50% reported that their businesses were growing. The findings highlight an important question for business owners: what does growth actually look like for your business? Growth does not always mean opening another location, hiring more employees, or doubling your sales. Sometimes, it means improving your profit margins, attracting repeat customers, reducing unnecessary expenses, or creating more time to focus on your long-term goals. Here are a few ways to evaluate your progress.Look beyond sales. Review your profits, expenses, and cash flow to understand whether your business is becoming financially stronger.Pay attention to your custo

I have a customer that was put in as a sub customer under a parent company but they should have never been put in as a sub customer. Now I need to merge the sub customer and parent customer accounts together but I keep getting this message when I try to take the sub customer off as a sub customer, “You cannot change who this customer bills with because there are invoices for the parent that include charges for this customer, or there are payments from the parent that pay off invoices for this customer. Delete all payments or invoices to this customer's parent which link to this customer.” How can I merge these accounts? How do I take the sub customer off as a sub customer?Thank you!

Avant nous pouvions créer un utilisateur limité qui était exclusivement pour ce type de transaction.

My colleague logged in to the same QBO account using her own credentials, and the sales tax rates were showing for her

To complete an order for our business in QBO, we pull up customer, fill in product ordered. But, we need to add shipping charges before it is charged to their Credit Card. During this busy seaon, there is not time for customer to wait on phone while we look up the shipping charge in USPS but we can’t save the Sales Receipt with out it charging the customer. Is there a way to save it? Thank you for your help.

When creating a new customer invoice there was a side tab to import a pdf copy of an invoice and it would populate into the screen, just like how it does for Vendor Bills.  What happened to this functionality for Customer Invoices?  PLEASE BRING IT BACK!!!! 😭

Two weeks ago, my customers started receiving emails after they open an invoice reminding them that they did not pay.  I contacted Quickbooks, and as usual they were first completely confused by a feature in their own software and took them a week to get back to me.  When they did, they stated this is a new feature and there is no option to turn it on or off.  Does anyone know if there is a way to turn these emails off?  Or is there a way to edit these emails as they are completely unprofessional? This is not a reminder email.  I have those set and have zero issues.  This is appears to be a new feature rolled out with the typical zero thought Quickbooks gives to features.

I run a small business where I travel and incur expenses. I have been using Quickbooks online for almost four years. I used to love the auto-matching function of uploaded receipts which did not require any steps it just found the right transaction and matched it. Then in the bank transactions you could add the tax, assign the expense to a customer etc. This stopped working about 1.5 years ago.My workflow until about a week ago was to upload receipts the same way then review the receipt, add the account - which is always the same one - and add a tax code. The save and close the receipt, without creating an expense. Auto-match then worked 80% of the time, not as good as 3 years ago but at least it worked. Now, in the receipts, you cannot do this. You have to create an expense, which may or may not match. This is a massive waste of time compared to the system 3 years ago. If the not-very-auto-match doesn’t work, you have to go through the same effort to add the client, tax code, account, e

the Profit for the year in balance sheet is shown for wrong dates. the balance sheet is chosen for period Oct 14, 2025 -Oct 14, 2026, but profit is shown for period Aug 1-Oct 14, 026. Fiscal year is Jul 31, so profit is shown for the current fiscal year instead of chosen period
