The 2021 T4's are not automatically calculating boxes 58-60, they are showing zero.
I am getting a pop up that says 'We've updated QB calculated amounts for Box 57-60 in T4 forms' when I go in to review the T4's.
I know last year there was an update for this in Feb2021. Do we need to wait for a fix again this year?
I am running Premier Accountant 2022 desktop
Thanks for any help!

Your suggestion is not helpful. I did call and was on the phone for 2 hours and was told there isn't an update for Quickbooks Accountant that will auto fill boxes 57-60 on the 2021 T4s
Did you get the auto fill to work on the 2021 T4s?
No, I have still not got them to auto fill. I am going to contact CRA to get confirmation on whether or not they require that info for 2021, that's the only thing I can think to do at this point. Super frustrating
I have contacted CRA and they have confirmed these boxes are necessary again for 2021. So here's to hoping Quickbooks gets it together and provides an update so these auto calculate.
I think CRA would require boxes to be filled as there was still wage subsidies for those periods.
Quickbooks was no help, I was on the phone for 2 hours and he finally told me they have not updated the software to autofill for 2021
After chatting with QB online chat, this is what they told me.
"Thanks for waiting. Upon reviewing my resources I found out that Box 57 - 60 should be blank for this year in T4 form. Those boxes in T4 form is for wage subsidy for the year 2020 ONLY. This should be blank for year 2021 onwards."
I agree, but this is what QB told me, I guess I will wait to file incase they release an update :(

Quickbooks are charging us more money for less work. Wish to get another accounting software.
I just did a webinar with Revenue Canada and it was confirmed that boxes 57-60 DO need to be completed for 2021 T4s. Mine are also blank.
CRA has confirmed that these boxes need to be filled out, but have not announced what the date ranges are for each box. Presumably, they will change based on CERB periods they wish to track.
I am calling Quickbooks right now to see if I can get some answers.
Calling Quickbooks was a total waste of time. However, I did make a call to CRA and the very helpful and knowledgeable lady advised me that Boxes 57-60 are only on the T4 slip to be used for 2020 (for those who need to produce the previous year T4). These Boxes DO NOT need to be completed for the year 2021.

Hi there albertenterprises...I have been looking everywhere to get more information on boxes 57-60 this year as well. QB has been no help whatsoever.
During your webinar did Revenue Canada mention when they will provide the dates for which those boxes will be based on? The current T4 info on the CRA website is that those boxes were for 2020 only. Thank you :)
Did you ask the CRA agent where that information is published for reference? Because as per CRA's website, those boxes are only for 2020, (screenshot and link attached).
Yes...those boxes are for 2020 only. The dates are as follows:
It has come to our attention that during the CRA Q&A session on January 13, there was an issue with an answer provided in respect of T4 reporting, and, in particular, whether amounts are required to be reported for T4 codes 57 to 60 for 2021 T4s. The CRA has confirmed that this additional reporting requirement applied only for the 2020 calendar year and therefore, no additional reporting is required for 2021.
January 14, 2022
It has been confirmed that the CRA Q&A had a slight slip, and that these boxes do not need to be filled out for 2021: (Scroll to Jan 17th on this link: https://www.cpacanada.ca/en/business-and-accounting-resources/taxation/canadian-tax-news?fbclid=IwAR... )
Hi, there.
I contacted CRA and these boxes are for 2020 only. Here is th elink:
Here is the excerpt:
For the 2020 tax year only, additional reporting requirements will apply to all employers, and will help the CRA validate payments under the Canada Emergency Wage Subsidy (CEWS), the Canada Emergency Response Benefit (CERB), and the Canada Emergency Student Benefit (CESB).
In addition to reporting employment income in Box 14 or Code 71, use new other information codes when reporting employment income and retroactive payments in the following four periods:
When is QuickBooks Desktop going to put out the update to fix these boxes, they did it last year!! We pay enough fees for payroll services, we shouldn't have to manually edit these boxes. Thank you
Hi There,
Boxes 57 - 60 should be empty in 2021, as per the discussion above. Are the showing up empty for you? If so, then this is correct. The misunderstanding came from a CRA webinar that had answered a question incorrectly. But it has confirmed that boxes 57 - 60 were for 2020 only.
There's no need to fill these boxes as they were for tax year 2020 only. I included the link and excerpt above.
I too have QB Desktop populating zeros for these 4 boxes for 2021 rather than leaving them blank. Better than having some other number I guess. I checked and confirmed I have most recent update.
