I need to amend my T4s and T4As as my business name was missing info and I called CRA and they said I need to amend them.
Hi there lehla,
It's important to have the correct company name when filing annual forms with the government. QuickBooks Online has the option to edit your legal business name to then be able to regenerate those forms. I'd be happy to show you how to make this change in your account.
In order to modify the Legal Name of your business in QuickBooks Online, you'd navigate to the Gear Icon in the top right corner of your screen, then select Account and Settings. Click on the Pencil Icon located to the right of Company Name, and you'll be able to change the Legal Name of your company by unchecking the box that says Same as company name and typing the correct one instead. Make sure you hit the Save button after finishing your edit.
After having made that switch, you'll be able to regenerate your T4 forms by going into the Taxes module in the left menu, then choosing the Payroll taxes section. Select the Annual Forms and you'll see the name change on them. As for the T4As, you can run them once again by choosing Expenses in the left column, then Suppliers. In the top of the screen, you'll see the option to Prepare Tax Slips. Here are a few more resources I found useful for preparing year-end tax forms in QuickBooks Online:

T4 are driven by when employees are paid. So you wouldn't amend.
Of course you would have to amend in some cases. I have taxable benefits to add for some employees. Can't see to find anywhere to adjust this on the T4 in QBO. Every other program I have worked with you could amend on your own
I need to amend my filed T4 slips to include the information in box 45 (dental coverage). I didn't include the information before filing
