Downgrade from QuickBooks Time Elite to QuickBooks Time Premium
by Intuit• Updated 1 month ago
Downgrading your QuickBooks Time plan allows you to switch from the Elite version to the Premium version. When you downgrade, you won't lose any time tracked during the process. Changes to your plan typically become effective on your billing date.
Change your subscription plan
If you have QuickBooks Online Essentials, Plus, Advanced, Accountant, or QuickBooks Online Payroll Premium or Elite, you can perform the downgrade within those products.
Downgrade your account after March 2025:
- In QuickBooks Online, select Settings ☸, then Subscriptions and billing. Or, in QuickBooks Time, select your Profile, then Billing and Subscription.
- Select Downgrade your plan.
- Select Choose plan on the Premium tile and follow the on-screen steps to downgrade your plan.
Feature changes after downloading
When moving from QuickBooks Time Elite to Premium, specific features such as Projects, Geofencing, and Timesheet signatures will function differently.
Projects
You will no longer have access to the activity feed or other project features, but you will not lose your projects. No time tracked against those projects will change or be lost.
● Sub-customers: Projects will be listed as sub-customers in your customer list.
● Time tracking: Team members can still clock in to these sub-customers from the time clock.
● Project tasks: Any project tasks used previously can be found as items in a custom field called “tasks.” To access this, go to QuickBooks Time, select Feature Add-ons, then Custom Fields.
Geofencing
The addresses setup for each customer or job will remain in your account.
● Notifications: Team members will no longer be directly notified when they near a job or be offered time adjustments for forgotten clock-ins or clock-outs.
● Nearby jobs: You can still use the nearby jobs feature. This will only suggest jobs located physically near the team member when they clock in.
Timesheet signatures
● Signing: Team members will no longer be able to sign their timesheets.
● History: Historic timesheet signatures will still be viewable as attachments on those timesheets.
