I dated my GST filing wrong by one darn day and unfiled it... wnet back and all my adjustments for sales and ITCs were gone... Can I get them back?
Hi MarnieLynn,
Before unfiling sales tax, it's important to review any exceptions and print the report. When you unfile a sales tax return, the exceptions will become regular transactions for the period in which they were recorded. You may need to issue appropriate adjustments when you refile the tax period.
Let us know if you have other questions. We would be glad to help!
So I've done this, and it's moved the filings to "Reopened".
From what I've read in support documents and on these threads is that it should have went back to be able to be refiled. Now I cannot do nothing but just look at them. I also cannot delete the journal entries. How can I go back and refile these returns?
The reason for refiling them, is because I clicked the wrong account type and it's made all of my Quickbooks Balances off by those amounts.
Is there a solution to this? I have both Quickbooks Online Accountant and Regular Online access.
I appreciate you for following the steps mentioned by my colleague, Warren. Normally, you can delete the journal entries if you successfully unfile them. Let me outline some troubleshooting steps for you below.
Since you can't delete the transactions I recommend performing some basic troubleshooting instructions to see if it's a browser-related issue. Let's begin by opening your account in an incognito or private browser window and completing the activity again.
Here are the keyboard shortcuts for popular browsers:
If it works, go back to your regular browser and clear its cache. Clearing the cache or cookies is the best way to start fresh and ensure optimal performance. Otherwise, using other supported browsers can be a good alternative too.
If the issue persists, I recommend contacting our Live Support team. They can open your account and conduct a comprehensive diagnosis in a secure setting. Furthermore, their expertise enables them to identify the cause of the issue and provide the most effective solution.
Additionally, I've added this article for your future reference in case you want to adjust your sales taxes in QuickBooks: Create or delete a sales tax adjustment in QuickBooks Online.
