Global Entrepreneurship Week, Explained
For one week each year, the entire world gathers to celebrate and foster entrepreneurship. Global Entrepreneurship Week arose out of a partnership between Enterprise Week UK and Entrepreneurship Week USA in 2008. Since that time, Global Entrepreneurship Week has expanded around the world and remains one of the signature international events on entrepreneurship each year.
Global Entrepreneurship Week is an enormous undertaking. In November 2016, Global Entrepreneurship Week expects to team with some 24,000 organizations to host more than 30,000 events in more than 125 countries. Millions of bright and energetic participants are expected to stream into network gathering events, teaching sessions, inspirational speaking tours, workshops and informational presentations.
In 2013 alone, Global Entrepreneurship Week speakers included 126 heads of state and ministers from nearly 70 countries. Global Entrepreneurship Week events were visited by many leading researchers, sociologists, economists, policymakers and business owners – each dedicated to creating a marriage between economic growth and human welfare.
