Free trial:
Pro Tax is functional as a free trial until purchasing a subscription. Create and edit T2 returns with the following restrictions:
- Create and edit up to 7 T2 returns.
- Fill out and edit all created returns.
- Use of the auditor.
- Estimate tax summary amounts.
Restrictions:
- Create no more than 7 returns
- No T2 EFILE
- No PDF export or printing
- No export to ProFile

How to subscribe
To subscribe to Pro Tax, you will need a free account with QuickBooks Online Accountant. Sign up for an account here.
- Sign in to QuickBooks Online Accountant.
- Click Pro Tax from the left navigation menu.
- Within Pro Tax, click on either:
- One of the banners that say subscribe now
- The subscribe button from within the Return actions menu when preparing a return.
- Follow the billing and payment instructions.
How to cancel your subscription renewal
To cancel subscription renewal:
- Navigate to the Your account page from the gear menu in QuickBooks Online Accountant.
- Click on the Billing details tab.
- View and manage your active Pro Tax subscriptions using the action button on the right.
Note: Canceling your subscription will cancel renewal for the upcoming subscription renewal. You will have full access to Pro Tax until the current subscription period has ended.
Frequently Asked Questions
Can I get a refund for Pro Tax?
If QuickBooks Online Accountant Pro Tax doesn’t meet your expectations, you can request a refund within 14 calendar days from the subscription date of the product. Please note that Electronic File (EFILEs) and Print Returns are not eligible for a refund.
If I cancel my subscription, will I lose access to my returns?
No, you will retain access to all created returns for free within Pro Tax.
