Hi again, info-hsolutionst,
Thanks for clarifying this about your cheque. At this time, there's no feature available to change the name and amount display on the print template. You can order cheques exclusively designed for QuickBooks Online to make sure they align perfectly with the program's template. Here's an article to assist you with that: QuickBooks Cheques
I hope this helps!

Hi masterroofing,
I hear what you're saying, and I can appreciate where you're coming from. It would be ideal if you could change the template more and didn't have to write the checks you have manually. The QuickBooks Online program is continuously evolving. If you'd like to see more options for editing the cheque template, I invite you to provide feedback.
In your QuickBooks Online account, you can submit your great ideas in a few easy steps:
Our product development team is always busy working on improving the program, and feedback from great customers like you drives these changes. They review all the submitted feedback when considering future updates.
Thank you for sharing your thoughts. Have a great evening!
Being able to modify templates has been around since early word processors in the 80's.... 30 years ago!! Come on intuit, you're supposed to be a leader... this is pathetic.
I have to agree, this is basic old school printing. I cannot for the life of me, align my TD voucher cheques to print correctly. I get complaints all the time that the subs cannot use the machine to deposit their pays because the ATM's can't read them. WTF? This is truly pathetic.
We also use TD. I have to agree that the alignment process is not intuitive (pun intended) but I was able to make it work. And, once the alignment is set up, it's good to go but has to be done for each user.
My current cheques are "Voucher, Voucher, Cheque". This makes it easier when paying bills for me. I staple it to the invoices being paid, send for signing and tear off the the "voucher, cheque" and stick it in the mail.
When I purchased QB I did not imagine that I would have to take apart my current cheque stock and move the cheque part to the top and tape it back together for printing. To make it Cheque, Voucher, Voucher. I have to do this as well to pay my employees. One whole year of doing this and I still have a lot of unused cheques to go. If I order new ones, QB will probably make it so we can customize the way we want :)
Hi McLeod,
Thanks for connecting with us here. I can see the importance of being able to print your voucher cheques without having to dismantle them. QuickBooks Online features provide the option to select the format when printing cheques. I'll be happy to show you how.
There are two ways to print cheques, voucher or standard. You can select the format from the print/preview option at the bottom of the cheque screen. Here's how:
1. Click on +New in the top left and then Cheque
2. Using the History icon in the top left, select the cheque from the list. Hit View More to expand the list.
3. At the bottom, click Print or Preview and then Print Cheque
4. Click on Print Setup
5. Choose Voucher or Standard
This is where you'll see the cheque located at the top of the voucher as you've mentioned. For future use, you may opt to order cheques from Intuit to minimize the need for alterations that can be time consuming for you.
Follow these steps for Payroll cheques:
1. From the Gear in the top right, select Payroll Settings
2. Choose Pay cheque printing
3. Make your selection and hit OK
At this time, there's no way to re-order the layout of the voucher option. However, you can make a suggestion to our Development Team for feature updates moving forward. We appreciate any recommendations you may have to improve your overall experience with QuickBooks Online.
Please don't hesitate to reach back out if you have any other questions. We'd be glad to assist!
Thanks for your reply. I guess that method would work if I was using the online version of QB, however, I am using the Desktop Version
Hi McLeod,
Thank you so much for letting me know that you have QuickBooks Desktop. Although you can choose cheque, voucher or paystub, these are set by default and can't be altered. In this case, providing a recommendation to our Development Team can be done by selecting Help and then Send Feedback Online.
Feel free to reach out any time you have questions. We're always happy to help!
So what you are saying is that there is no changing the template for cheques at all?
We recognize the need to be able to have cheque templates for easier customizations in QuickBooks Online, Phyl.
Unfortunately, this feature is still unavailable at the moment. The system uses a default template for checks so it's non-customizable for now. I want you to know that the changes in the program is released based on certain several factors. We're unable to provide the turnaround time on when new features are released in QuickBooks, since this is handled by the Developers Team.
Please know that you can share your suggestion within the program through sending a product feedback. Follow the steps below in a web browser:

Hi. Our bankers have made some mandatory alternations to the formatting of cheques. How can I get Quickbooks to print using a new template?
YES! I need to staple the voucher portion to the Invoice, and then give them to someone else for signing.
The cheque formats available make no sense.
Thankfully we pay mostly with EFT ... oh wait, QBO isn't set up for that either..... I feel like I'm going in reverse
I have just switched on of my companies over to QB Premier Desktop but my cheques are voucher, cheque, voucher. Is there anyway to set this up for printing cheques?
Hello MAB2023. Just to make sure we're both on the same page, are you asking if it's possible to convert the vouchers into cheques so they can be recognized in the Print Cheques module for printing?
You have clicked a link to a site outside of the QuickBooks or ProFile Communities. By clicking "Continue", you will leave the community and be taken to that site instead.
